General Disclaimer

First, let’s be clear about this: this blog isn’t financially driven. I write because it’s fun for me. I write because I think it does good things for my understanding of the world and my processing of my experiences. And I write because I think it might help people occasionally.

My primary means of supporting myself is my day job – not blogging.

I may use affiliate links (for products I already like and plan on recommending), and I may review products from time to time.

As of December 1, 2009, the FTC requires bloggers to disclose whenever there could be hidden interests or unspoken biases related to recommendations.

Per the FTC rules, if I interview someone and they grab the bill for lunch, I would need to disclose this. Ditto if I use a link that gets me 8 cents instead of a link that gets me 0 cents. If someone gives me a comfy t-shirt with a logo and I wear it in a photo, same deal. Disclaimers all over the place. This would be tedious for me and even more tedious for readers.

But rules are rules, so here it goes:
To cover myself liability-wise and also to preserve your reading experience, please assume that, for every link and product I use or mention in any way, the following all hold true:  Writer got fed. Writer got gadgets. Writer got money. Writer got mad schwag. Writer probably also got free or discounted accommodations, plane tickets, train tickets, tours, spa days, admission to cool events, and lots of useful advice.

Content Quality Disclaimer

I wrote a good portion of this content while sleep-training my baby, which means it was pieced together in the middle of the night while I was watching videos online and trying to ignore a tiny Night Fury making noise in the background. I’m sure there are tons of errors (and it’s possible that parts of it won’t even make sense). Please feel free to let me know if/when you feel that edits are needed.

Guest Post Disclaimer

The guest posts on this blog are designed to demonstrate the wildly varied ways we can live, work, and chase our dreams. Please keep in mind that the opinions, methods, and links contained within do not necessarily reflect my own views, experiences, or recommendations. (Which is, in my opinion, part of what makes them awesome.)
